DIGITAL PORTFOLIOS

How will a digital portfolio change my classroom?
USING A DIGITAL PLATFORM TO MOTIVATE AND CREATE
Students collect artifacts that show growth over time - progress - and they also collect final work to celebrate - performance (Matt Renwich, Digital Student Portfolios).
Portfolios allow students to see their growth. Learning is a process and portfolios help students gain awareness and become active participants in the learning process. They recognize techniques that they have used in their own writings.
Digital portfolios become an assessment tool that students and teachers can use to demonstrate progress and to personalize the learning experience in the classroom. Reflection and revision become commonplace and will lead to growth in your students.
Students become CREATORS instead of mere CONSUMERS. Revisions are continually happening as we discuss the art of writing.
Ongoing
research and
reflection
become
the norm.
